Tim Johnson is a professor of history at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, and his specialization is early American military and political history.  His books and articles focus primarily on the history of the mid-nineteenth century army, and his works on the U. S. - Mexican War are nationally recognized.  Johnson has been an invited speaker at the National Archives in Washington, and he has appeared on The History Channel, C-SPAN, and Public Television.  He was also a 2005 research fellow at Yale University.
